Damn has it been windy over in Paradise Valley of late. The pic above was taken a few days ago – clearly the leaves have mostly blown down out of the Cottonwoods and there’s more snow in the hills.
Yellowstone River devotees are used to battling breezes of varying power, though when the big boys start talking about windy days on the river, you know most of we mere mortals wouldn’t stand much of a chance on the water.
That said, the reports we’re getting is that streamers have been solid below Livingston, and folks patient enough to nymph (beadheads are the bread and butter) this time of year have been doing well in the Valley. More than one of Jake’s buds have been using spey rigs over here, finding the big guns a little easier to toss on the breezy days.
Still a chance for midges and blue wings, but the sunshine the next few days will curtail the dry fly show a bit.
The weather forecast this morning is calling for it to get windy Monday and Tuesday ahead of Tuesday’s weather…..
