Lower Madison Revisited: How the Mighty Have Fallen…..

in Fish Stories

On the Lower Madison (Warm Springs to Blacks ) this morning early as Jake had to be at work by noon; it was calm, cloudy, 59 and just getting light when we left Warm Springs but the day gave way to sun and increasingly pesky winds.

Shane and Jake were pounding streamers much of the day with things pretty quiet save for a couple.

Jake went from this on Wednesday to this leviathan today.  How the mighty have fallen.

I would have gotten a better pic but the wind was blowing so hard it was whipping that sardine all over the place…..

I think I ate a sardine bigger than that for dinner….
Actually, I’m sure of it.

Should have left the little bastard on there as bait…

I appreciate this picture as I am somewhat blessed in catching small fish myself. Very tiny fish are much harder to catch than big fish. Pretty nice for a small fish, Jake, but it’s not under 1″. Keep trying.
