The ‘Stone has been blowing hot and cold cool as is usually does this time of year.

Above Yankee Jim fish are still rising well to dries – including attractors and funky hoppers / terrestrials.  The Park’s guys said pink is the color of choice in their last report on the upper Yellowstone.  I’ll be damned.

We’ve heard reports of, pending cloud cover, Epeorus, BWO, and even some Drakes over here; friend Mike has been bagging grouse and throwing Drakes for a week or so over here in the first of the season’s cast and blast outings.

Bigger fish below Yankee Jim are more likely to be caught nymphing or on streamers (early best).

The chatter is still running strong that the fall season should be one to remember this year.
