The Madison River Foundation is sponsoring their Ennis on the Madison Fly Fishing Festival this weekend – here’s a link to the Foundations web page for the event (full schedule available).
Here’s part of their description of the event –
For the fifth year in row ClackaCraft Drift Boats of Clackamas, Oregon has donated a brand new, fully equipped boat and trailer to the Madison River Foundation for its annual raffle. Drawing of the winning raffle ticket will cap off the Foundation’s 7th Annual Ennis on the Madison Fly Fishing Festival to be held again over Labor Day weekend, September 4-5, 2009. All Festival events will be held in Peter T’s Park on Main Street in Ennis, Montana.
This year the Festival features such notable fly fishing speakers as Craig Mathews, Mike Lawson, Kelly Galloup, Jim Klug and Molly Semenik. The Festival includes live music, fabulous food, fly tying demonstrations and instruction, a kids program, casting clinics and competitions, and an awesome bucket raffle featuring top-of-the-line fly tackle, guided fishing trips and angling art works.
The drift boat raffle has become one of the most popular features of the annual Festival. Raffle tickets for the boat are on sale next week at the following Ennis locations: Ennis Chamber of Commerce, Madison River Fishing Co., The Tackle Shop, El Western Cabins & Resort, Rainbow Valley Motel & O’Dell Creek Fly Shop, and First Madison Valley Bank.
The drawing will be held at 8 p.m., Saturday, September 5th during the Festival’s traditional Main Street BBQ. All net proceeds of ticket sales go to support the Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting, preserving and enhancing the Madison River watershed.
