The Yellowstone in the Park is very close to fishing well.  The area below the Lake remains closed until the 15th of this month.  Flows are starting to creep back down to manageable levels.

Fishing in the Grand and Black Canyons seems to be the best bet.  Last report I heard from a buddy of mine, visibility was over a foot and the water was greening up.  Shouldn’t be too much longer before fishing really turns on.  Look for Salmonflies here in the next week.

There is not much going on up top right now, so stick with big nymphs.  A stonefly pattern with a large prince dropper would be a good choice.  Streamers fished tight to the banks would also be a good idea.  The Yellowstone is about to wake up.
