Like other waters in the neighborhood, the Park section of the Madison is shifting to a summer pattern, with these recent bright sunny days slowing the mid-day festivities just a bit.

On one hand it does make it perhaps a bit easier to plan your day on the water.  There have been fairly impressive (and fishable) PMD spinner falls from about 0900 to 1130 or so, and the hatches are still coming from about 1100 to 1600 or so – though much less so in the bright sun.

Caddis are still drawing a great deal of worthy attention from the river’s residents as well; don’t forget to dead drift caddis pupa when there’s no hatch activity.

Finally, there are some Little Yellow Stones coming off as well, so have a few of these in the box.

Some were projecting a bump in flows with the warmer weather; after last weekend’s rains pushed flows up, they’re now back down to the seasonal average and will probably stay right on the mark for a few weeks.
