For the most part good news from our friends down south on the Henry’s Fork.
The entire river is open and fishing as of the 15th. Flows out of the Lake were cut again yesterday – cut pretty impressively as you can see from this morning’s flow chart.

The good news is that low flows make the Box very wadable; there are still Goldens and afternoon / evening Caddis in there, but the best fish according to our HF guru are still being taken subsurface on big Rubberlegs (she thinks brown more readily than black).
Last Chance and Harriman waters are serving up a fair number of bugs – the full life cycle of PMDs, baetis, a few Green Drakes, a truckload of Caddis – but not many fish. This is ‘big boy and girl water’ and requires good fish locating skills before you ever throw a well thought out and executed cast.
Riverside to Warm River (my personal fav) is fishing well to Goldens, Yellow Sallies, and Caddis; run a dropper under those big dries.
Probably the best action this past week has been on the Ashton to Saint Anthony run – it’s been a PMD festival with afternoon and evening Caddis, with a bursts of Green Drakes now and then. Hot damn. Below St. Anthony there’ve been some Goldens, Caddis, PMDs and even a few Gray Drakes.
Double hot damn.
