Today’s report is a good news – bad news kind of report; there’s more good news than bad, so let’s do the bad news first. 
The bad:  Clarity remains a problem throughout the river, worse the further downstream you’re considering fishing.

The cooler weather has helped the Clark Fork, but she’s just not there yet.  There’s a tremendous amount of water still rolling down this river as you can see. 

My guess is that she’ll be fishable in 7 to 10 days pending the weather and rainfall. 
There’s a lot of season yet to come…..

The Blackfoot has dropped quite a bit in the past week, over 4,000 cfs in fact.  Even though flows are much lower, the fishing still isn’t great.  Water clarity is improving, but visibility is less than six inches.
We are much closer to good fishing on the river than last week.  Shouldn’t be too long before [...]
