I hate to say this because I love fishing the Blackfoot, but don’t even bother giving her a try for a while.  Flows really jumped yesterday and will continue to rise dramatically today.  The forecast is calling for temps in the 80s today, and 60s and 70s all week which is going to push a lot of water in the river.

Now is the time of year to fish your favorite lakes, ponds and tailwaters.  Catching a lake right at ice out can produce some great fishing.  A lot of people I know go stir crazy during this time, but all it takes is a little effort to find some great fishing in your neighborhood.

Runoff is here on the Blackfoot, and in honor of the video below, I can only say one thing, “He’s dead, Jim.”
