Chi Wulff Goes Social

Over the past few weeks, the team here has been working on ways to improve our site.  One of the solutions we came up with was social networking.  Today, Chi Wulff has joined two of the largest social networking websites on the web.

I set up a Facebook page last night.  We really intend this to be a gateway for more user interaction than we have right now.  On our page, we will post pictures, news, and content from our blog.  We would really love to get a chance to meet and interact with our readers through this portal.  Give it a look here.

Twitter seems to be all the rage these days.  Celebrities are doing it, businessmen are doing it, and now Chi Wulff is doing it.  At first , the team, to a man, opposed using Twitter.  There was just something about “tweeting” that seemed, well, effeminate.  But, as we did some more research and really looked into it, we began to see the benefits of tweeting.  After some heated discussion and heavy opposition from the old curmudgeon (yes Al, I am talking about you), we all agreed to give it a shot.  Mark and I both think we could have some real fun with it!  Follow us here.

Please also notice the two social networking banners I have placed below the calendar at right.  These will give you easy access to both our Facebook page and Twitter feed.

Some of you might be wondering what any group of self respecting fly fishermen would get mixed up in all this social networking craze.  Two reasons.  The first is just good business sense.  Social networking is an incredibly powerful marketing tool in the web world.  I have been involved with it for years, both personally and professionally in my “real world” business ventures.  I can attest to the viability of the system.  More and more people are using social networking to get information and meet people.

The second reason we at Chi Wulff are joining the fray is simple: we want to be able to interact with all of our readers in a simple and useful way.  We always love to hear any and all questions, comments, feedback or whatever from you guys.  You are a great group, and anything we can do to facilitate a community, we will.
