Welcome to Chi Wulff.  Come on in and make yourself at home.

Team Chi Wulff would like to offer a special welcome to our friends from Best Fly Fishing Yellowstone – Chi Wulff is the new Yellowstone, southern Montana, and surrounding neighborhood fly fishing website we’ve been promising folks for almost the past year, and never quite got around to building until now.

By the time we looked at all the things we wanted to do to improve BFFY, and recruited some additional horsepower to help manage the site – BFFY had morphed into something bigger and better, with a new name, design, and functionality.

Jake has been the primary designer and implementer of most of the technical features of the site as well as writing a lot of the content thus far – we gave him the charge of finding a format that was more readable, more customizable, cleaner and more attractive, could handle pictures and video with greater ease, and looked more professional.  He’s done one hell of a job in getting things set up and will be one of the main contributors to ongoing content as well.

The Chi Wulff is a real fly – and Jake has in fact written the story to record it for posterity; it’s posted on a page linked at the top of the site.  We’ve also explained a bit about our team (it’s posted on a page linked at the top of the site as well) – we’re just a bunch of regular guys and gals who aren’t fly fishing industry professionals, but we love Montana and the Yellowstone country, and the great rivers of the area.

Many of the features that folks seemed to like best about Best Fly Fishing Yellowstone have carried over to Chi Wulff.  We’ve expanded river reports to cover many of the fine waters in south central and southwestern Montana, we’re going to continue our gear and book reviews, commentary on local and regional happenings, and our Friday food posts (now the Friday Feast).

As we get the kinks worked out over the next few weeks you’ll be seeing more video from the region and from good fly fishing video producers around, and we’ll be featuring a local shop, guide, outfitter, restaurant, or other notable person or place you should know about to enjoy your fly fishing experience in Montana even more – this will be in post feature called the Weekly Wonder.

We hope to highlight the writing and photography of other folks in the neighborhood as well; we’d love to hear from you if you’ve got something you’d like to write, or have a suggestion of someone who might.

Pull up a chair, kick off your boots, grab a cold one, and make yourself at home.
